wow, hollywood needs to get some new inspiration, remaking old cult classic tv shows into movies just hasn't been very successful.

Can't say I'm pleased with this though, KITT looked mean and lean, slick and clean, the shelby looks big and bulky and full of muscle, guess it has to in order to appease to the bigger = better mentality many americans have w.r.t. cars

I like this car, but would rather have the 08' Nissan GTR... for 78K but performance is on par with a 911turbo

I use to watch knight rider way back in middle school. I'd watch it just to see how kitt evolves from the firebird body into the shelby.

C'mon Delsol a Nissan? It's still a shock that KITT went from a GM to a Ford.

Wow. So I guess Ford won the match by paying the product placement fees =/

It's cool that they try to revive the classic series. Not sure if the Shelby Mustang will be a perfect choice for the car. Probably they should just use Bugatti Veyron =D (Hey, if it's KITT, it's about speed right. Veyron can hit up to 400 mph).

Pics of Veyron:

Yeah, those Bugatti's are sweet. They have a switch inside the car that allows you to turn 1/2 the cylinders on or off. IIRC, you can go from 500 hp to like 1000 hp with the flip of a switch

Some other cars that they should have considered.....

I can't believe they went with a Mustang. Just doesn't fit Kitt at all.

Target demographics, unfortunately.

Perhaps KITT's accent will have a southern twang as opposed to upper-class butler.

I don't watch much TV anyway

Kurplunk, you haven't seen the nissan skyline GTR for 08' yet... dude it'll blow most supercars off the road for a mere 78K... and as a stock car already performs at par with a Porsche 911 Turbo that has the speed record in nureburg...

That car is SICK. But there is NO WAY it can blow most "super cars" off ANYTHING.

A Porsche 911 Turbo is by no means a super car. The Carrera GT is the closest thing that Porsche built that could be called a super car.

What I would give to buy a new GTR. Too bad they're going to be marking them up anywhere from 20-40k above msrp.

No offense to anyone, but i was just referring to the fact that KITT should stay a domestic car. It is like saying the general lee should be replaced by a lamborghini. It just doesn't work.

anyone remember the mini movie "Knight Rider 2000" where KITT was a red Pontiac Firebird?

http://www.davidhasselhoffonline.com/KR2000Photo01.jpg

looked horrbile!

i agree i don't like the idea of KITT being a Ford Mustang.....too bulky and muscular. i think a Z06 would've been a better fit. or even the new Camero, but too bad it was used in Transformers already.

anyone know if David Hasselhoff is going to be reprising the role of Michael Knight?

any chance of a cameo by the "Hassel Paly"? haha...jk!

Yeah i usually dont like american cars either, but the glamor shot above looks failry spiffy.

Whats up with that mobile dining unit on the back?
All u needs is a bucket of chicken and baked beans, and a park, and your set. One level was enough the double wing is wicketywack IMHO

The Hoff, lol I dont think he will be the guy anymore, prolly will cameo though.

It will be someone new (hopefully) and not someone off of "Save by the bell" or "90210"......lol

Non taken Kurplunk LOL,

The GTR slightly modded would likely take on most dubbed " supercars" easily. and still would be legal on the road..
