Baltimore Aquarium
Had anyone been there? Is it worth going?

DEFINITELY worth going. Probably one of the best aquariums on the east coast, both for reef stuff and other types of tanks. The gigantic walk-around tank in the middle is breathtaking.
Try to go during off-peak hours, otherwise you're likely to be surrounded by thousands of children screaming about nemo. |

i second ....macht's opinion. it is a really nice aquarium. my wife & i have been there twice. we were lucky enough the one time to be there when the were hand feeding the rays. they have 2 scuba divers in the tank hand feeding the rays. really cool!

I've been there 3 times over the past 10 years. Definitely worth the money to go. Although not an aquarium, the Amazon Rainforest on the top floor is cool and very realistic. See the dolphin show, and board the submarine outside. Eat at the Hard Rock Cafe nearby.
Thank you for choosing Saltz Creep Tours! |

Hey Nick... tell me about good LFS in Houston... I'm moving there in a few days. Also, is there any hope of finding Southdown Tropical Playsand down there in your Home Depots? It supposed to be easy to find here in the East, but when I looked today... I couldn't find any to take with me to TX.

If you go on Friday after 5pm the tickets only cost 5 bucks!!!! They are building an Australia exhibit that is going to be around 3-4 floors high. Not the water of course!!! But it is getting closer and closer to being done. The rocks that they built in there are starting to look good. Perhaps when you are here you could help me build an acrylic accessory? I hope that means aquarium!!!! lol

Russ, if you call the Home depot in College park they may have it. I also heard that no home depot is carrying it anymore.
But try the home depot in college park, it is right off of rt 1 where 95 and 495 merge. |

So, nick... what are you using... or are you bare-bottom?
To buy the appropriate "dead" sand from LFS around here is like $22 for a 30lb bag.... which is unbelieable, considering I used to by a 40lb bag of southdown for aroun $4.

No dice at the College Park Home Depot... they only have "High Desert Sand" and the "Quickrete" stuff. I'm totally bummed.
btw- sorry for hijacking the thread... I'm kinda freaking out about trying to find SAND (of all things! LOL!)
