Seachems Amino's for SPS
Hey, Anyone here use SeaChems REEF PLUS to add Amino's to their tank?
What is a preferred brand of Amino's out there that people are recommending?

I used the seachem for about 2 weeks and had a bad algae outbreak. I threw it away soon after.
A lot of local reefers have had great succes with the Elos aminos. I have used a bottle and it is a great product.

Warner Marine Aminos are great. I have been using them for a little over 4 months and have noticed better colors in my sps.

Its kind of funny as Warner Marine are pretty popular down south and Elos are really popular up noth.
When you smell WM, are they pungent. The elos smell like thy are actually concentrated vitamins.

I use reef plus. I haven't noticed anything negative. My Monti and Milli seem to love it and so does my LPS.

I use SeaChem's Reef Plus and have had no ill effects. I generally dose according to the recommendations and my SPS seem to thrive. An initial concern was that reef plus includes iodine, which I do not like adding without a test kit. However, the amount I put in my tank (150 gallons) does not seem to impact the iodine levels very much. |

The pungent smell to that Warner Marine is probably the Asorbic Acid (Vitamin C) whic is used as a preservative. At least I think that is the way i heard it.

I use the reef plus in my SPS dominated mixed reef, but I only add it once a week as opposed to the reccommended two. I have done this since initially setting up the tank, and I have yet to notice any ill effects...In addition to this, the only other additives are B-Ionic daily. Everything is colored up beautifully, and I have excellent PE...

I've been using reef plus with no troubles for about a year now, but I too only dose once a week, I was thinking of trying Brightwells after I finish the bottle off reef plus.

I'm using reefplus aminos. I don't think they do much. I just dose them because I have to with the pappone. I am going to switch to Elos or Warner Marine pretty soon.
