Gluing Eggcrate to Acrylic
Is it possible to glue eggcrate to acrylic? I tried super glue and Weldon, but they don't seem to work. Anyone ever do this?

I did it successfully, but I can't honestly remember how I did it. I think I just used superglue, maybe gel since it has some solids in it.
IIRC when I did it there were two different kinds of eggcrate available at HD, one was about $6/sheet and the other was like $10 a sheet. I bought the $6 one and it worked. I bought another sheet recently and HD only had the $10 version available. This version seems to have different properties (much more brittle) and this may be related to your issues gluing it. At HD with the PVC glues you can find a 'transition' glue if memory serves correctly, that's for gluing ABS to PVC...perhaps it would have the proper solvents. If not that, maybe MEK would do it?

I just used silicone to glue thin acrylic panels to my acrylic tank. It has been in there for about a week and seems to be holding up pretty well.
It was just regular silicone 2. |
