protein skimmer question
In my FOWLR tank in which the contents are listed in an earlier thread, I have a Euro-Reef ES 135 skimmer. Is that under powered since I still have nitrates in my tank, and what would be a good replacement? I was thinking the Euro-Reef 250 but what do you think?

In heavy stocked tanks I believe in doubling the size of the skimmer to the tank. Like on my tank I have 680 totall gallons of water and running a skimmer rated for 1100 gallons of water.
Are you wanting in sump? I loved aquac skimmers.

I guess I would prefer in sump just because it is cheaper generally and I have the room for it. I was just basically looking for any suggestions you guys have on getting the best protein skimmer for the money for my setup. I really do not want to get rid of many fish so I need to have the best filtration possible.

Yeah I agree with going double what the rating is. The ratings are generous and FOWLRs are often heavily stocked. I have a BubbleMaster 200 on my 130G and it is rated for up to 250G I think. It does an amazing job...Best skimmer I have ever used!
