Thanks for the information on this piece of equipment. I just purchased this equipment and it will be here next week. My question is if if understood you correctly you said that the
"The reactor was fed with a MaxiJet 400 unit using fresh RO/DI water." Is this pump supplied with the system or do I have to purchase this separately?

I purchasedthis separately, but you may not need to use one. The way the reactor is built the water inlet is on the "suction" side...thus water is automatically drawn into the reactor.
However, I used the MJ400 to fill the reactor and flush the dust from the media. Does that help? Paul.

Paul,
can I use a RIO 1100 instead of a maxi jet 400?

Jeri,
Yes. Thats is correct Sandy/Ed...you can you use any pump really, so long as you can connect it to the unit and you can control the flow. I use that pump on my smaller Knop reactor. Paul.

you mentioned that you filled the bubble counter with RO/DI water, why did you do this?
Another question on the feed pump. How do you know if you'll need to use one or not? Thanks for the review!

I filled the bubble counter with water so that I could actually see the bubbles. I was not sure if it was a self filling chamber or not.
You will need a feed pump to give a controllable flow through the system. An MJ400 is a pretty good pump to run the reactor. Paul.

Thanks for getting back to me Paul!
If you look at the package deals they have for these reactors, they all come with MJ1200's. I'm wondering if that's overkill for the application the pump is used for.

Mine didnt come with the MJ1200....at least I dont remember it doing so.
The MJ400 on my older reactor was more than sufficient for my use. So long as you can dial the pump back, the MJ1200 is fine. i recently fitted a unit with the MJ1200 and used a valve inline from the pum to the reactor to help regulate flow. P.
