Peninsula Tanks - Anyone have pictures?
Planning to setup a peninsula tank in new house and was hoping some of you here may have photos to share of your setups. Looking to do a 5x2x2 with one end against the wall. Any pictures of this type of setup would be appreciated, especially those including stand and canopies. Thanks!

check out mcrist's peninsula tank... its a bigger tank than what you are looking for, but one of the better build threads.

Well, I'm transforming one of my 120 gallon in-wall tanks into a "wide peninsula" so you can view it on 3 sides if that counts...

Thanks Jeff. Your thread is very helpful!
Have any pictures of the overflow in the tank? Also, what about your closed loop. |

I love my peninsula tank but they do have one disadvantage, two more walls to scrape clean of algae.

Thanks, I have read through that thread over time.
I am most interested in tanks with the overflows at one end and seeing how the cabinetry/stand was designed and what types of overflow boxes were used. |

Here's an early picture of mine;
Deep Sea 185 (60" x 30" x 24") overflow box has 3 - 1.5" drains & 2 - 1" returns. Drains go through to wall into a room I built in the garage. There's another 335 gallons out there. Since this is adjacent to the kitchen I'm building a pantry in the stand. I'm putting wainscoting around the room, I'll continue that around the stand. Canopy will extend to the ceiling where I've installed an exhaust fan.

I do not run a closed loop, on a large tank I find Tunze streams to be more economical to operate.

Warboc, I'll have one soon, I'd like to make some progress on my canopy & lighting before I do so.

Re: Peninsula Tanks - Anyone have pictures?
when searching for "peninsula" aquariums also include "room divider" in your searches. A link to my build thread:
