cycling question

Ok picked up some live sand from Hardo4 bought some more live rock.. Just couldn't wait!!! I have a total of 18-19 pounds live rock another 7-8 pounds of base rock. a sloping dsb 3 inches in front to a back depth of 6-7 inches. 20 gal tank. I added a shrimp last night. (dead) testd ammonia/nitrates/ph etc this morning.
Ammonia about .25 ph 8.2 nitrites 0 nitrates about 5-10.
the question is how long do I keep the shrimp in there. till its rotted and gone or do I pull it out now since I have ammonia levels.

Just leave it in there. Monitore your peramiters and when the levels are zero you are all set to add live critters.

Go slow with the addition of critters. Start out with a cleanup crew and then go from there.

Have fun

I also read a cool quip somewhere to accelerate the cycling process by simply adding ammonia (thereby skipping the step of waiting for the shrimp to break down and release byproducts)
