coral ID?

My buddy picked up a coral and sent me this pic. He isnt from CT so i havent seen it in person. He got it from his LFS where they have a $15 frag tank with no IDs on the frags. From the pic i think it is some sort of brain coral...Anyone have any idea of the species?

Hard to say for sure, but I would take a guess on possibly Platygyra sp.?

Yeah, thats what i was thinking too...The pic is kinda hard to see so i am gonna try and get a better photo out of him. Maybe it will make it a bit easier to ID.

Maybe that also seems pretty close. It seems like it will have to grow out a bit more before being able to really tell. Merulina sp. does seem like a strong possibility though.
Thanks

haha thats what i initially said to him...either platygyra or favites.. The pic he provided makes it pretty tough to get a decent ID.. At least we know its some sort of brain lol! I think he will need to let it grow out more and get a better pic...but thanks for the help.
