becuase it is freakin way less expensive then other pumps...

I had two in my system at one point. They're big and not very powerful for the size, but they function just fine. I'd go with a Mag instead, if you're using it for a return pump. I switched to a Mag 7 and it was way more powerful at 4 feet of head, despite the Mag 7 being rated at 700gph and the Via Aqua 2600 at 740gph.

yea... i purchased the mag 7 after reading the first post...

it was only like $20 extra,

then i read the next 2 posts....

I have a Mag & and my only complainti s that it is loud! I wouldn't buy another one.
