Nice, please post a pic or two when you can, with the polyps out. I want to compare it to a frag I have a pic of in my gallery, bought as unknown. It looks reeeal close. TIA

This is my Oregon, It's growing horizontally towards the front, almost three inches now.

and this is my Cali, growing vertically in a bush structure.

They are much bluer in person.

Your frags are gorgeous. Enjoy!

Cool Rob. It is really fun to get stuff straight from the source and to be able to trade like that.

BTW, is it glowing like it's radioactive yet?

I got one of these guys two weeks ago. After looking around it turns out I overpaid (impulse buy at a high end LFS), but it is a great frag. Polyps were out in the bag on the way home! It had already started encrusting to the rock I put it on within a week.

I hope it turns out to be a fast grower, great coral.

It's towards the bottom of the tank, but it's growing. You can almost watch monti's grow...

tacocat, any suggestions on getting the tort to go radioactive? I've seen it before with this coral in another person's tank. It was a radioactive glow that no camera could ever dream of picking up. I had a 2" frag in my old tank directly under a 400w Ushio 10k and lots of VHO actinic and it never went radioactive. I only had for about a year before that tank crashed. The frag I have now is 2-3", has been in my system for about 5 months, and is fairly close to a 400w radium. Both frags did/have done the same. They are an awesome blue color that everyone points out when they see the tank but I've never gotten them to go radioactive. Do they just need to grow out a bit first? Now that I think of it, the one that I saw that was radioactive was about the same size as the one I have right now.

Here is the one I had lost that was under the Ushio and VHO actinic:

And here is the one I have now:

IMO, both have great coloration but I would love to get the one I have now to go radioactive.

James at Aquascene has one under 400w 20K Catalina bulbs and no actinics if you can believe it. You can fill his tank with Tidy Bowl, and you still wouldn't be able to miss the Oregon tort.

I recently aquired one, and it's not glowing.
