pink caudal peduncle

I am not so sure that this is a disease but I thought I would try here anyway. I have two bangii cardinals (Pterapogon kauderni). Both are tank raised from the same batch. I have been noticing lately that their caudal peduncle area has taken on a pink hue. Anyone else ever seen anything like this?

Sounds like a reaction to water quality problems. How is the ammonia and pH?

Might be a bacterial infection. Antibiotics would be helpful.

Funny thing is they were in my 10ga forever which I hate to say is not the cleanest thing and never showed this. Then I moved them to the 125 and that when their caudal peduncle started changing colours. I though maybe they were just happy, ha ha. Well I have to QT them anyway as you know. I am never going to catch them though. they're still small enough to go into any nook or crany they choose.

It strange, if you look very closely at the fish you do not notice this "pink hue" you only really notice it from a distance. The Idol's caudal peduncle is also kinda pink, but it has been that way since the first time i saw him.
