silicate removal

What do you use for silicate removal. I use po4 liquid remover by Blue Life. I was told this product will also remove silocates. Any thoughts?

This will only precipitate PO4 and silicates out which then have to be removed. Use an adorption media instead.

Using liquid po4 remover would then have to be skimmed out correct? With an efficient protien skimmer to strip the system.

I think that finding the source of the silicate and removing that would be safer. Some of the RO/DI systems are better at that. Are you sure the system has a silicate issue?

I brought mine down to normal by replacing the DI resin and adding Warner Marine Phosar HC through a reactor.

That either worked, or AWT changed their Silicate testing between Nov & December which many people also believe.

What ever it was I'm normal now (December), Si was sky high in November.

Like Bertoni said, better to stop it from getting to the tank. I use a di cartridge called a silicamax. I have no problems when testing for it.

Randy has a good article about silica.

I just ordered a di cartridge for high silicate from buckeye field supply. My tap water here is horrible. I had one of those companys (door to door sales) test my tap water and it was crap.
