We had one, great dog. But, as with any proteciton dog you really need to know what you're doing and make sure all the proper training classes are taken and more so with these dogs as they are huge and extreamly muscular. They aren't like some dogs where you can get away with minimal training. They are extreamly intelegent so it's best to keep them occupied with something so bad habbits don't form. Kind of like with herding dogs. Because they are so intelegent they have their own ideas about things and can be stubborn so finding a K9 instructor that works with these breeds of dogs would be the best to take classes from. Not just your every day PetSmart classes. You don't want an untrained, unruly 80-100lb+ guard dog built like Arnold Schwartzenegar. The power of these animals is remarkable. We did have to fix our chain link on his enclosure every once in a while as it would get a bit bowed out when he lunged on it to bark at people while we were away. Even though we had a solid fence surrounding it and our back yard. We also ended up digging down three feet and out about two feet around the inside perimeter of his enlosure, attaching hog wire to the bottom of the chain link and conforming it to this ditch. We staked it down then filled it with gravel so he couldn't dig out. Worked perfectly. They are awesome dogs but not for a beginner. If you've never had a dog before you may want to think twice before starting off with a Corso. Ours was very sweet with the family, aloof with strangers and was a great, huge guard dog.

Also, buy from a reputable breeder. They can be pricey but go with one that has parents that have some kind of temperament testing/guarantee etc. Ours came from Roman Cane Corsos. If you don't buy from Roman, buy from one that has a similar program with all of the testing and certificates to insure the dogs health and that you don't end up with a dog like this with temperament issues because the breeder doesn't know what they are doing.

TY so much for the insight KT & Sj, I did all my research first im a store owner and Cutter( the dogs name) is with me 24/7. I got him straight off the boat from Budapest Hungary, I have seen his line and to put it in one word "perfect". He has his own personal trainer once a week everyweek he does absolutey amazing with the trainer it seems to calm him. But like u said he is so smart its not funny they are problem solvers which is even scarier. Do you still have the corso or did u go with a new breed ?

Ty beagle
