T5 Watts

LFS employee told me 4X39 W T5 retro would be fine on a 60 gal aquarium. Didn't seem like it would be enough watts. Is the watts per gallon rule the same for T5 bulbs as it is for other lighting? Thanks

Watts per gallon is not accurate. What are the dimensions of the tank and what type of corals do you want to keep?

My mistake. It's an AGA 65 RR (36x18x24). I will be keeping LPS and softies.

That'll work fine as long as you get good reflectors and bulbs
