Hi everyone, my question is about the home fumigant know as Sulfuryl Fluoride or Vikane made by Dow chemicals. I had my house fumigated and I had to take my 40 gallon mixed reef out of the house and into a trailer in my drive way for 5 days before moving it back in. I thought I pretty much got everything out that had anything to do with the aquarium, but I actually left one whole, new piece of white eggcrate, and a few new filter pads.
Are these things tainted by the gas? Would it have penetrated things like tubs, pumps, tubing or anything else had it been left in the house? ![]() -Thanks

I think few folks will want to guarantee you that it will be OK because I expect few have direct experience to prove it or not, but in looking at the fact sheets at then end of this wiki article, I think the risk to a reef tank from gas soaked into eggcrate is acceptably low after a day or two of exposure to normal air:
