Question

I am interested in getting an anemone. Don't what to get or if I should get one.

Here is my setup.

30gal. with 10gal. sump, skimmer, couple of powerheads for circ. and 2x96watts PC 1-7100K blue, and 1-10,000K white.
temp.-80F
SG- 1.025
ammonia-0
nitrate-0
nitrite-0

Inhabitants: Green torch, Xenia, Green Star Polyps, some frags of Xoanthid polyps, some small frags of SPS: montipora digitata, blue acro, pavona, turbinaria, condy anemone.
Fish: 1 false perc., 1-neon dottyback
and a Coral banded shrimp.

Tank has been setup for over 7 months and have seen some good growth in all frags even the SPS. Oh yah, I have 40lbs of Liverock and a 3in DSB of live sand.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I have been looking at LTA and Bubble tips.

Sorry about it. I was gonna reply to this thread but I forgot.

A bubble tip of aLTA anemone would do just fine in your tank. You have good lighting and the tank is mature enough.

Just make sure you feed the anemones and also get one that looks good and healthy from the LFS. If you have a chance, touch it at the LFS and make sure it feels sticky. Stickiness is a good sign.

HTH,

Carlos

Carlos, thankyou very much I will try to touch one before I purchase. Now I have to decide which one I want. Is one usually more colorful than the other or does it just depend on the particular speciman?

It all depends on the type of care the anemone received during shipping. Try to find an anemone that looks good and healthy. Anemones that are shriveled and shrunk are not a good choice as they might be already decaying and dying.
