My first coral, when I got it it was as small as the bottom one, it grew(4yrs) and then I broke it into the two pieces.

Thank you drummer. But Its a common, not so rare, froggy. I've had that baby since the beginning, I wouldn't sell it for the world! Got a little to big for my 75 though, now it's in my 120. The shrimp, which is very big, makes my froggy looks small though, it's huge if u see it in person. I once saw a pic here on RC that fills a whole tank!

Hope this inspires some of you, keep that water dirty, they grow faster! LOL

Heres mine. I have it in a 26 Bow Front with a 175W 10K MH and its doing great. I am starting to see some more heads form too, so far about 5 frogspawns are by far my favorite corals.

Reef artist- I have had babies, too!

Euphoric - Frogspawn favors less than ideal conditions, lower/med flow and lots of suspended food. I only put cyclopeeze in my tanks, once evry two weeks. However they will visibly grow if you target feed blended shrimp about once a month(anymore, and I think the food would be polluting your tank) I target feed using a syringe and airline about 2-5ml, so it isn't a lot at all.

Frogspawn is my favorite coral, as well.

chinaman4u, thanks for the feeding information. When you fragged yours how old were the heads? I have some smaller heads on a Torch (19 heads in all) and some of the lower ones seem discolored - larger ones getting all the light. Do you think I should just cut them now?

reef- i fragged my babies when they were less than 1/8". I don't know if fragging would be beneficial. I have not conducted a study comparing a fragged baby and one left on the main colony.

euphoric- supermarket bought is better, but I use frozen cubes from pet store for convenience. Frozen cubes have been known to contain phosphates. I take a frozen shrimp cube and shave off a piece, mix with aquarium water and squirt mixture into frogspawn. I have seen frogspawn take in large pieces, the only problem is fish usually steal the larger pieces. Freezing the rest is fine.

When first purchased, how long until your frogs got fully extended? Been almost a week for mine and he still seems shy.
