Koralia Question
I have 2 #3's and 2 #4's on my 180 and they are great but, I would like to have them on some type of wavemaker. Is there any truth to the rumored koralia controller? If there is when would it be coming out?

I have not heared anything about a Koralia controller, however a seio controller does the trick.
I have tried them on the red sea wavemaker and it is just wayyyy to noisy everytime they start back up. My LFS sells the seio for 117 right now......so that makles 2 of them for 4 koralias pretty affordable imo. |

I haven't heard that. I thought it wouldn't matter what you hooked them up to b/c they're AC? They're gonna make noise no matter what you hook them up too.

they are not making any noise on the seio......they only make noise when they turn on. they seio just drives them down doesnt turn them off/ on

Oh I follow you. Just the one time they come on. I didn't know Koralia's were capable of that. I thought that was one of the high-end features of Tunze... they are power controllable.
All the literature says the Seio can do this.. but I read some use comments saying it just set two heads at 50-100% but no control. Maybe that person did use it right. But the Seio controller can be used on Koralia's? Last edited by SCIFI_3D_zoo; 11/18/2007 at 05:13 PM. |

FYI ,
Hydor is making a Koralia controller ,but it will be made for a new GEN of K pumps from what I understood. The SEIO controller works well I had eight of them hooked up on two controllers 4 on each controller,I did get a hum after a couple of months but turing the unit on and off the humm was gone.

I have my powerheads hooked to one of these. I did a mod, replacing a capacitor to get better timing intervals. Found it on an old thread in this forum(I think).
They contol by turning them on/off individually or in pairs. The pumps chatter a little on starting but that's all so far. I figured $30 to get some control wasn't too bad a price until a better on made for these comes along. http://www.amazon.com/Chauvet-SF-400.../dp/B000MW6S2K |

Their website specifically talks about ramping them up and down. They say only for Seio but that's understandable. |
