The correct link to the forums is:

http://www.bostonreefers.rog/forums/

The other link will work, for now, but it has a hardcoded IP address in it rather than the domain name...and IP addresses sometimes have to change so you should use the domain name instead...

I'm not sure what:

BostonReefers.rog is?

But Joe's link works too

LOL, that is too funny! Thanks Dave...

You should not use the IP because it could change at any point in time and if it does, you'll be out of luck. If you use the real domain name, you're protected from that circumstance. Not to mention, it can be a pain when following links because cookies are 'domain' specific, so if you are using the IP address and then follow a link that specifies the domain name, the system probably won't recognize you as a user and will require that you log in again (and vice versa).

Anyway, not a huge deal...but thought an explanation might help. Unfortunately, it won't let me edit my last post so I can't correct the typo in the link display, but as you pointed out, the actual link itself does take you to the right place.

I've actually had that happen to me, I think on RC
They blocked the .com site, but not the org site

I've switched my Favorites over to the correct name instead of the IP

Actually, it is best to use:

http://www.bostonreefers.org/forums/

While leaving out the www should work, it could lead to problems relating to cookies since the system itself refers to itself using the www address -- so if you log into the system as bostonreefers.org and the system ever redirects you, it could do so to the www address.

It probably wouldn't be an issue 99% of the time, but it is safer and just as easy to use the www hostname.
