Cool Hyposalinity beats Ich!!!

Hello to all. 5 weeks ago I posted here about whether my hippo tang had ich or not and we determined that she not only had ich, but black ich also and treatment was necessary ASAP.

Hyposalinity was the preferred treatment, so...

I fixed up the 5 gal hex hospital tank and put the hippo and the 2 black ocillaris in it with a pvc pipe for hiding and a sacrificial piece of live rock for water conditioning, dropped the salinity to 1.09, bought a refractometer from the lfs to maintain water parameters and... voila!

5 weeks later I moved them all back to their home tank, ich free and happy! The invertebrates from the main tank were fine and the fish are better than ever!

Thanks to all who have helped me determine the sickness and taught me how to treat ich successfully.
