You have been unsuccessful because there won't be any papers that support that. As MCsaxmaster has explained, there is a direct relationship between intensity and rate of photosynthesis with no delays as such. If there is light, the zooxanthellae can use it. If there isn't any, they can't. Increase light and the rate of photosynthesis increases (until there is enough light to saturate). Decrease the light, and the rate decreases.
