I have never had salt creep from the my filter. I keep it pretty clean though. When aquascapping I made a little I have a little tunnel going down with the inlet so I can remove it for cleaning. It usually only needs to be cleaned every couple of months, nothing big. Seriously ever since I removed the bio wheels I dont get any nitrification build up on the inlet or inside the filter.
