Also, the non-paying members do "pay" for this site. They click on sponsors links, and create "buzz" about products. So just the mere fact that the non-paying members are on the boards, they are in a way, paying.

I just want to clarify here since the implication you make is that RC makes money from click-throughs or gets a portion of what
you spend with a sponsor. That is untrue.
There are other things you get with a Premium Membership besides the search engine availability (and more things coming---see my previous post and link to the "Warm thank you " thread).
