ever heard of resin rock

Anyone have any experience with "resin rock"? My LFS has some in their lr tank, said their supplier now has them sitting out in the ocean next to their regular live rock. Nice shapes, covered in corraline --pretty "real" looking & made of some sort of resin. Isn't porous so not a great bacteria host--but my thoughts were if I had a sump filled with same amount of lr I normally use couldn't I grow my corals on the resin rock in the display & perhaps not have to deal with the devil algae bryopsis which I'm currently battling? Seems like it wouldn't be able to get a real foothold on this stuff since it isn't porous & the usual cleanup crew could handle any of the "usual" easier algaes to deal with. My lr is about 5 yrs old & I think has phosphates stored in them from my learning days, been contemplating getting new rock.... Anyway-- just wondering if anyone had any experience with this resin rock?
