Possibly, if there is any space at all a wrasse will often jump out. However many wrasses also sleep in the sandbed and operate on a pretty strict schedule. My H. Melenurus is up before the lights are on every morning and cannot be found after 8:00pm sharp! I could set my watch by his behavior. Keep faith, good luck!
