Head/Loss for every pipe vertical, horizontal feet, elbows, etc, the pump will lose flow, pumps have max feet they can push water through, so its important to find your loss, Example my tank uses a Mag 7 (700GPH before loss) My tank is actually using 475GPH after head loss.
