i dont see where you say how much or how often you change carbon.
FWIW im a big fan of GAC. i use a lot of it and change it every 4 weeks or so. IMO the only thing you need to worry about is waiting too long between changes. if you do you will clear the water too quickly and your corals might get light shocked.
ive never seen any proof of GAC excessively removing trace elements.
