I'm changing my 55g freshwater planted tank over to saltwater. I'm in the process of getting 80ish pounds of cured live rock off a forum member. I just ordered this
Skimmer and some new lights for my TEK 4x54w
UVL Aquasun 10,000k, UVL Super Actinic 420nm, ATI Blue Plus, and a GE 6500k
Went to the local fish store and bought 2x30lb bags Caribsea aragonite sand.
Now here is were my questions start. I am currently using 2 canister filters with the planted tank now.
1. Should I contiue to use the canisters when I go to saltwater or will my skimmer do the job of them? Can it hurt to run them with the skimmer?
2. If I don't use them just get power heads for flow?
