There is a write up on this tank in Paletta's book Ultimate Marine Aquariums. I was amazed to read that this tank's total volume is only turned over slightly more than once per hour dispite the fact that 3,500 gallons of water are moved per minute. The other surprising fact is that there is less than one watt per gallon over the tank even though 18,000 watts of light are provided. I guess the "general" rules change when volume is concerned.
