How long do you usually find this takes? I did not dip in fresh, but rather used a turkey baster to target the hole where the mantis was originally in. All in all, it was out of the water for about 45 min. I was worried this was too much for the corals and feather dusters, etc. so I then put it back in salt water.

If I see the mantis in that rock again, I will try your idea of letting it sit in an empty bucket for a bit.
