Electric current is likely to corrode the metal acting as electrode (and release the metal into the water). IMHO if you've had 800 mA for 1hr, you have now large amounts of metal ions in your water....

My sailfin eats all the "leaves" of caulerpa taxifolia, but not the stem.
Remaining stems float behind the rocks and seems dead, but they don't decompose very fast.

Otherwise, blow water at the bunnies, so they will settle elsewhere, and then siphon out.
