Yep these would work pretty well, excpet for the fact they WEIGH a TON. They can run 120 so you are fine there.

Any ballast can be made to run remote, you just may need to increase the wire size...

Lobster tank FOR CHEAP!!

Right now there is a Lobster tank, complete with sump, chiller, THICK tank, pumps, stand, ect...
It came from a Red Lobster (You know where you get to pick out your own fresh one in the lobby)

But you could always check your water prams, like you said it could be a sign of something in the water..
