Yeah... you definitely don't need anything more than a Maxijet 900 for your fuge. By "softy type tank" I mean what kind of corals you plan on keeping, if any. I would presume it will be a softie...

Lose the crushed coral... keep the live rock and chaeto... Ideally, I would keep flow at about 300 gallons per hour, which means a mag 5 might be just fine (once you calculate head loss).
