RO/DI is better but I think that good quality and conditioned tap is fine for a FOWLR tank...

I've never had one but I've done a lot of research. My research shows that they do make a difference. But spend the money and get a good one like the Pentair Step one.

I'm not sure how these guys spawn... I know they need as little as one cell to multiply. But once they're shot dead with a solvent of some sort or detached.......

Nice - we have great stores here in Toronto but because of our strong dollar it might be worth it to check these out. The only thing is whether it's legal/ok to transport things like livestock...
