I planned on using 1/4 acrilyc with guide holes cut and then a another solid piece of acrylic clamped on the other side of the glass to prevent chipping on the backside.

Current-USA Orbit PC to HQI conversion?

how much and how often are you feeding? What type of filtration are you using? I read a post earlier this week about high nitrates caused by a cracked heater...worth checking into.

I agree...you don't need them. I wet them down...seems to help snap them in place a little easier.
