My roommate here at RIT is starting a reef tank and we are looking for some inexpinsive local LR. We hit TRS and Carribean forest ealier but concluded that the cost:quality ratio wasn't good enough....

The filaments should be both be horizontal. If you cant screw the bulb in anymore then back it out accordingly. I would consult the instructions for your ballast; it should say the same thing.
