55G tank for free, with a catch.
OK so I got this 55G to help a friend but I no longer need it. I swapped out the lighting and put in a 4x54W setup, its pretty darn bright. Icecap SLS reflectors. A couple pix are below, its pretty basic and needs a little cleaning but a pretty nice setup. Black back, overflow, sump, stand/canopy.
The tank/stand/canopy are free but I have a couple hundred into lighting. If someone wants the whole thing, with Icecap reflectors & Giesemann/ATI bulbs I'd sell the entire thing for $150. The sump is drilled to run an external pump but I put a temporary seal on the holes and just run a small submersible return pump. Here are a couple pix - So basically $150 for the tank/stand/sump/premium lighting and all plumbing to the overflow. If you buy it and want the Tunze 9010 skimmer you can have it for $200 - so $350 for the entire thing. Thanks, David |

No PM sent....just an idea.
Some peeps in FRAG have been wanting, to give back, so to speak, to the community outside of FRAG. A suggestion was made about a display tank (prolly fish only) to be step up at a retirement community or something like that. The tank would then be maintained by the peeps of FRAG. A way to share our hobby with others. This tank could be a great start in making that happen. |
Sorry forgot to update - this is pending to a local member. I received a TON of PM's, but I found someone who wanted the whole setup and the Tunze 9010 for $300.
KK thats an awesome idea. This tank wouldn't really be good as a FO, the lighting was way too bright. I think a bigger tank would be better for that anyway - like an 80 or 125. If FRAG/PROP decides to that, I'd love to help! I'm sure between all the reefer's closets we'd have enough to get that going with pretty decent equipment. |
