What new fish?

I've got a 50ish gal cube and am looking for a fish to go with my Ocelaris Clown. Tank has been up for just over 3 month and the clown has been lonely for 2 months now. I'm looking for an active fish that doesn't hide too much. Any ideas?
Thanks
Jeff

green chromis

Nah, I heard they do better in a group of odd numbers, like 3. Any truth to that? Not enough room for that. I got a 6-line the same time I got the clown, but he didn't make it. I'm thinking about getting another.

I would pair up your clown. If you don't have shrimps then Flame Hawkfish are great (However, I keep one with shrimp and no problems yet).

Thought about another clown but the store here hasn't had any nice clowns latey. I'll keep looking.
thanks

i agree...pair up the clown...

if you have a top on your tank...goby, blenny, jawfish...they jump

Looks like I'll try and pair up the clown. I also thought about a goby. Thanks for the input.

Midas Blenny!

I would add a Coral Beauty mine is very active!! I also second the Midas Blenny!!

Midas blennies are great. Can't beat the color of a royal gramma, though they stick to the rocks a bit more....

If you pair up the clown, be sure and get the same species, and be SURE it is a small one. You don't want to inadvertently have two females.

Anothe vote 4 the gramma (after u pair yuor perk with the smallest 1 u can find). U just cant bit the color!
please do yuorself a favor and avoide green chromis-they are THE dullest fish in the sea in both adult color and personality.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I think I'm planning on getting another clown then possibly a gramma or goby. I don't care for the chromis and reading up on the the coral beauty they may nip at corals. I don't have a lot of corals yet, but don't want to jepordize the one's I have...and may have in the future. What do you guys think about a cardinalfish?

I second the hawk, either flame or longnose.

Orchid Dottyback ( Pseudochromis fridmani)- Gorgeous fish, not nearly as aggressive as your average dottyback. Behavior & feeding about the same as Royal Gramma.
