MaxiJet sureflow 1600gph?

How many have tried the sure flow for maxijets? do they work good? do the magnets hold good?

i tried to search. not a premium member.

any feedback would be great!:bum:

SDiver 09/06/2007 05:36 PM

is this conversion worth the $20 with the magnets?

flyguy7150 09/06/2007 06:15 PM

doesnt come with magnet, only the holder thing, you gotta read it carefully, I might order one soon.

SDiver 09/06/2007 09:27 PM

glad you pointed that out. just buy a korilla 4 for 47.00

luke33 09/06/2007 10:00 PM

Yep, saw that last night myself. No magnet. So for the magnet, kit and maxi ti'll be 70+ shipping. Not a great deal when the koralia is 48 bux with a magnet.

flyguy7150 09/06/2007 10:24 PM

its not so bad if you already have a maxi, and with the mod should produce more than a number 4 + the shipping cost

Linkblaze 09/08/2007 03:24 PM

I was considering this too for my new build, but decided to stick with the koralia. If you've already got the Maxi and magnet might be worth it but if not the Koralia 4 can be had cheaper...and it uses less than half the wattage of a Maxi 1200.

SDiver 09/08/2007 03:28 PM

i have like 3 or 4 old mj1200s. but 25.00 ea for the magnet and 20.00ea for the kit is a bit high. i might get one just to try it.

mudskiper 09/08/2007 03:40 PM

I have one just put it in today i used the maxi jet mounts insted of the magnet. I is worth the 20 that you pay for it. It put out good flow.

SDiver 09/08/2007 03:43 PM

i thought about that too. you used the sunction cup mount?
can you post a pic of it?

VaderWS6 09/08/2007 05:32 PM

I'm running three on my wavemaker in my 75 gallon, insane flow! I love it!

mudskiper 09/08/2007 06:14 PM

Yes i used the suction cup mount and super glued it to the back of piece where the magnet would go. I will try to get a pic up if my camera will work.

mudskiper 09/08/2007 06:22 PM

Here are some pics of the mount they are not the best pics but maby they will help.

Thanks mudskiper. since i don't have to use the magnets i may buy a few.

markandkristen 09/08/2007 08:26 PM

so these guys can be used on a wavemaker cooll...

OG SHARK BAIT 09/08/2007 11:40 PM

correct me if I am wron but arent maxijets the only pumps you can use on a redsea wave maker or do the new korola thing work???

mudskiper 09/09/2007 10:11 AM

I dont think that the korolas can be used on a wave maker but i would like to find out how well the moded maxijets work on one.

SDiver 09/09/2007 10:48 AM

i would like to know how good they work on a wavemaker too. and which one to use. maybe vader will let us know how his is setup.

OG SHARK BAIT 09/09/2007 03:51 PM

i have been told tht their is a powerhead that is mag drive from out side the glass and has no cords in the tank and it works with a wave maker and has up to 1000gph but my LFS has it for $400. so no good. But I did see the ecomod at a locak frag swap and it was cool and I have been looking for it. So I will more than likley do the 1200's 2 of them with the mood in mt 330g and see how it work but I would like to hear a response to the above questions.

Mine are all on a wavemaster pro, the longer they ran the quieter they became. I've got two in the front top of the tank (left and right) which blow into each other. The other two are staggered in the back. I'm thinking about placing one in the rear corner, which will shoot water diagonally across the tank. When they first break in they're kinda loud, but they'll quiet down.

dhnguyen 09/09/2007 06:37 PM

Guys... You don't NEED to buy that magnet in order to mount your MJ

Check these out instead.

It uses half the wattage of a normal MaxiJet, but a modded one with a propeller uses less wattage as well.

SDiver 09/09/2007 08:45 PM

thanks vader! will definately check into that

muzzlefish 09/09/2007 08:54 PM

Watts

Here is the wattage of the Sure Flow 1600 on the respective power heads:

400 - 11w
600 - 11w
900 - 11w
1200 - 17w

luke33 09/09/2007 08:57 PM

My question is do they all perform at the same flow or is the 400 the least flow or what.
