Dehumidifier water for top off?

Can I use the water that is collected from a Dehumidifier for top off? I know people use distilled water without problem. Does anybody use Dehumidifier water?

I would venture to say that dehumidifier water was condensed through copper pipes. I wouldn't use it.

absolutely not. Have you ever smelled the water when you empty it? they have a very metallic smell. I wash my hands right after emptying it because I don't want to put my hands in my tank and accidentally introduce copper or pathogens

I know I will get flamed for this, but I say hell yes. I use the water from a 'portable air conditioner' in the summer that has a plastic, removable collection box.
I would test it for copper & stick a TDS meter in to make sure it is OK. I did mine and tds was 3 and 0 copper. A test stick found everything in order..nitrate, phosphate etc etc as if it wouldn't be. :)
If you would drink it, I say go for it.

They have these stand alone drinking fountains that do just this. All i see they do is carbon it. They probably UV it as well.

YMMV, good luck. If you spray stuff in the air, it will end up in the water so beware.

i produce ABOUR 20 LITERS PER DAY USING THIS METHOD; IT IS PERFECT WATER; BUT DO NOT SMOKE!
I USE BODNER AND MAN BRAND; IT IS ENOUGH FOR A ROOM 50M2; IT DEACREASE HUMIDITY FROM 90% (IT WAS NOT GOOD FOR MY FLAT!!!°) TO 30% WHICH CAN CLIMB TO MAXI 45%; MY COMPUTERS AND HIFI AND PLUGS FEEL BETTER!
I ADVISE TO EVERYBODY IN FLAT LIKE ME BECAUSE IT IS VERY BAD FOR HEALTH AND MACHINES WHEN HUMIDITY IS MORE THAN 60% IN YOUR FLAT;
tESTED AND APPROOVED!

I wouldn't, humidifier water could have any number of bacteria in it. Maybe if you hit it with ozone or run it thru a UV......

You may want to check out the link below. You can get a nice RO unit for $122 shipped. I think it's the best way to go.
