Lights of America PC fuge lamp ?

Ive read somewhere that people have had success with the Lights of America PC (6500K) bulbs at home depot with great chaeto growth. Well I went to check these out and they have a 65W bulb, a 42W bulb, and I think a 27W bulb.

My question to those using these is what wattage are you having succes with and what fixtures are you using to drive the bulb. Are you using one of the Lights of America floodlamps or some other fixture? Any help would be appreciated.

The one it comes with. The floodlight.

It seems kind of large at the store, but I see you have a 180 and probably have plenty of space for the light in your stand. I guess I could buy one and see how it fits.

My sump and fuge are in the basement.

If you don't have a lot of room, you can use the daylight floodlights PAR38 CF bulbs. HD has an Nvision bulb at 5500k that works well. You can use the wire clip mount even.

Yeah, that would be nice but my 90 is on my second floor and that would be almost impossible for me. Im not sure that the fixture will work for my application but thanks for your help.

I think that I would have enough room for the fixture sjm has, but I really dont want my stand cluttered. I will check out the Nvision bulb tonight and see if I can go down that road. Thanks.

The 65w LOA fixture is not for a small fuge. The screw in CF bulbs are good for ~ 12"x12" area.

My fuge is about 11 x 12 x 10, I think you're right, I need the smaller light.

LOA has 2 othewr wattages also

i put my loa 65w 6500k fixture right on top of my 5g bucket fuge. fits perfectly!

chaeto loves strong light, esp pc light.
