Open mouth "disease" in clown?
 

I'm not sure what is going on, so I'm coming to the community for help. I have two clowns that are paired up that appear to have their mouths progressively stuck slightly more and more open. They still eat and swim normally. The female may have a slight white discoloration on the corners of her mouth. There are several other fish in the display, including another clown pair, and none of them are exhibiting any symptoms. Any clues as to what it might be or any hints on something specific to look for that may help determine what is going on? Thanks

A stuck open mouth is uaually a sign of poor nutrition. How long have you had them?

Mix up their diet and feed Beta Glucan.

I have one pair of clowns. One clown is in great shape but the other clown is always in the front bottom corner of the tank. It has been breathing rapidly and it also has some white discoloration in the mouth. Also (where it poops from) is stringy and stays connected to the body.

This is a strong indicator of internal parasites. Does is still eat readily?

It will see the other clown go to eat and follow then it shows not interest and goes back to the corner. At best it will swallow then spit it out.

He\She has been that way for 3 days.

I have 4 clowns in the tank along with several other fish. All of the fish eat daily and are definitely not thin at all. I feed a home brew that includes shrimp, crab, muscles, squid, selcon, mysis, formula 1 flakes, formula 1 pellets, spectrum pellets, zoomax, diced garlic and nori. None of the other fish are showing any signs of distress or illness. Are their any other possibilities?

Anyone have any insight?

I was hoping to get a reply from an veteran hobbyist who has experience with disease treatment. I'm sure I'd get plenty of speculation from "new to the hobby" types in that forum. I've been doing this for a long time and would prefer hear from people who would know more than I would on this topic. Unfortunately, sometimes the most knowledgeable and qualified individuals don't reply.
