ph probe help

just got a new probe for a unit thats been a little wonky question is my old probe had a round bubble in the bottom and packed in gel new probe seems to have a stainless steel nipple and just had a rubber grommet on it as there's no instructions in the new one i'am guessing the stainless tip goes right in the water just wondering because i thought these probes had to be kept moist

I also don't seem to ba able to calabrate

The brands and models would be useful. Most pH probes do better if stored in a solution.

sorry

the new probe is a milwaukee ma921b/2 the unit is a american marine the unit started climbing up in readings over a week or so so i tried to recal but i could only get it to sit a 4 and 5.53 not 7 when i tried the new probe it was the same but i'am wondering why the probe wasn't packed in gel and is this stainless tip a new thing

Hmm, I don't know much about American Marine equipment. You might want to try this question in the chemistry forum.
