Bare Bottom reefers, show me your tanks!
Full tank shots. Show me what you got! I'm just curious which method is best!

My tank probably isn't the best example of a thriving BB tank because I have been battling Acro flat worms and lost a ton of nice stuff :( but overall the tank still looks decent.

Great tank Richard. Hopefully other barebottom reefers will join in. I'm sure we are all curious. I just love to see the photos! :D

I hope you don't mind me posting them. I just want people to be able to see them without much work. You know us reefers are lazy. Yippee, more reason for me to go BB if i get to see those tanks |
Here are some pics of my barebottom just so you won't think BBer's won't post pics of their tanks Greg;)
FWIW I personally don't feel like any established method works "better" than any other. IMO it's what works best for you:) Right side Left side Full tank shot Clams The tank was a SSB for the first year of it's life(after transfer from another tank with a 3" sandbed). Even with biweekly siphoning of the SSB it was impossible to keep detritus from finding it's way under the rocks and nitrate levels had crept up around 10(with no obvious ill effects, I just didn't like the levels) before I took the sand out. It's been BB for several months now and will stay that way when I move it into a 120:D thanks, Chris |

Mine is still a lot of frags and has a lot of growing to do but here it is anyways. BTW, gcarroll, I would love to have a tank that looks even half as good as yours some day.;)

That montipora in the center is huge! So is the table top ;)

I need a picture more recent than 3+ months ago, but until then:

nice tank but wheres the bottom. all is see is a bunch of corals and no glass. j/k. i know its there but just like how the corals decided to cover the bottom. one question though (sorry to go off topic) which of the efflos is the ugliest one? i see two there and your sig says you have the home for the ugliest efflo |
Actually the green one is an A. hyacynthus (sp). If you look slightly to the right of it and down a bit, the bro...I mean, Earth Toned piece forming the cave is the one I refer to as the WUE.
Good looking tanks everyone...And in the spirit of March Madness: Go BB-go BB-go BB-It's Your Birthday.... |
