Mollusc article

Hi Aaron,

Cool article! I just wanted to point out one thing. Where you list the mollusc classes, you list Aplacophora and Caudofoveata. Aplacophora includes Caudofoveata (=Chaetodermomorpha) and Solenogastres (=Neomeniomorpha). The present consensus is that there are 7 classes of molluscs including Aplacophora (which includes Chaetodermomorpha and Neomeniomorpha as "subclasses").

Hope this helps,
Kevin

Great article!
I was reading about a week ago that this class of animal has set the record for longest lived at over 400 years old!

Quote:
the clam species Arctica islandica, commonly known as the ocean quahog, was hauled up from waters 250 feet deep.

Only after researchers cut through its shell, which made it more of an ex-clam, and counted its growth rings did they realize how old it had been — between 405 and 410 years old.
