Southdown Sand and PH

I have a question for those of yall using Southdown Sand. Most other "reef-sand" seems to be really fine Coral, how do yall keep your PH up if you use Southdown Sand. I am looking in to Caribbean Aragonite but am interested in saving money by using Southdown Sand if it will still keep the PH up.
Please let me know any cons yall have run into. I would rather spend more money and do it right the first time than to spend money twice to fix it.

Thanks

Actually, aragonite found in CaribbeaSea or Southdown helps in the buffering of pH. So it will help you stabilize your pH to a certain extent.
