Why was it reinforced? Were there problems with water leaking on the stand or warping / cracking etc,, - also are the scratches on the bottom through the finish? or just dirt?

it was reinforced because it just didnt look like it had enough support, there is no warping,cracking etc, there was never a leak of anysort, except ofcourse from you regular maintenance & what not, there are scratches, but photos on the bottom are from dirt/mud from storage. you are welcome to see the stand for your self in Long Island.
