Hi,
I'm going all natural with a refugium only. I've got a LifeReef VS2-24 with mag9.5 pump, all plumbed for in-sump use. Here is a link http://lifereef.com/retail.html#vs2series . LifeReef is known for having great one-on-one support with the owner/builder Jeff, who is easily contactable. It says it's rated for a 250g tank. It's got a maintenance-free self-cleaning venturi. It will come with all plumbing to make it in-sump, and can easily be modified to be external as well. I'm not sure as to whether the Mag9.5 is able to run externally. I've had the skimmer for 5 months, and it's pulled out nothing but thick black/brown skimmate for that time. It's been working beautifully on my medium stocked SPS 120g reef.
New it sells for $359 + the cost of a pump ($40 for the one they suggest, which is lower GPH than the mag and doesn't include plumbing)
I'm looking to sell it for $350 plus shipping, or make me an offer.
Thanks,
Eric
