After the years of trials and tribulations, I have finally started my ideal reef. 110g long, dedicated solely to sps and clams. Only a couple of lps, guys who have been with me since the start.

Thanks rock,

the glare is from the adjacent window. My wife let me get the reef with the new house, but she had to agree to placement. A small price to pay. Right now I'm running 2x175 mh, 10k, on the ends, 4x48" actinic vho, and 2x96w 10k pc. Tomorrow will be the final addition of a 150 w 12k hqi, right in the center.

LET THERE BE LIGHT!

Great beginnings with that tank Pacific Intent!! If you don't mind, I'd just like to ask Rock Anemone a little question since he's here. Is it possible that we could also add a subdivision to your Spears club for Anna K. :D

Pacifig Intent -

You said you were adding a 150w HQI in the center. Have you done that yet? If so, what do you think of the output? Lastly, whose the ballast by?

cI'm picking it up tomorrow. Its a pendant 12k. Unfortunately, not sure of the brand. I do all of the sps fragging for the LFS, and he pretty much did all of the leg work. I told him the specs that I wanted, and he got the product. He fired it up yesterday at the shop, said the output was fantastic. I'll know all of the details tomorrow. If I can remember, I'll message you, absolutc.

I really didn't want to go with the higher wattage, because it just really seems unnecessary. I've always tried to emphasize "quality" of light rather than rely on a wattage per gallon.

Anyway, Check with me tomorrow. I'll certainly be posting more pics.

Very nice tank!

I wish I had the room to create such a stunning rock display. In my 46ga I just had to kinda pile it in. :(

Actually, the 175's are on. That's how much better hqi's are. I'm negotiating atrade right now for another hqi in place of the 175's. Incredible output! I had to use the light metering on the camera because the HQI was so bright. Here is today's pic.
